PRICES AND BOOKING INFORMATION FOR THE 2010 SEASON
“Les Roses” or cottage A: from €280 to €380 p.w.
“Les Jonquilles” or cottage B from €360 to €500 p.w.
Depending on the cottage, dates ( mainly bank holidays) and seasons.
A I0% discount applies for staying a fortnight
Extra discount offered to regular customers.
Calendar of seasons
Low season : October, November, up to Dec 17th,
then from January 8th
until March 31st.
Mid season : April 1st- May 31th
*High season : June 1st-June 30th // September 1st-September 30th
**Peak season : from July 1st till August 31st
Special holidays : include **Whistun (May 23rd, 24th ) // *Good Friday, Easter
(April 4th, 5th) *Christmas and New-Year festivities.
Off season flexibility applies for those who want to stay less than a week although a one week minimum stay during the Summer season is still very popular and strongly advisable.
Prices include water and electricity during the fine weather and the Summer season but from September 15th and until May Ist we have to make a charge for the use of electric convectors if heating is needed.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
A 40% non-refundable deposit to be paid when booking. The balance plus a security deposit amounting to €100 (or the nearest £ equivalent) is payable 8 weeks before rental period commences. Otherwise reservations made within 8 weeks of the start of the rental period require full payment. Application forms and full terms and conditions plus other details (area, local visits etc..) will be sent to you by e-mail or by post should you confirm a booking after receiving a quote. Any booking requires a deposit or a full payment depending on the date of booking.
The security deposit is usually refunded fifteen days after the end of the stay minus extras if required (linen, heating, cleaning, etc..) and before leaving for people coming from far away.
We advise people to bring their own linen to save money but if you can’t do that the following are extra and available when you book a cottage with us.
Bed linen : 2 sheets or quilt, duvet cover (couette) : €12 per bed and per week.
Household linen ( 10 items) for a full set fo2 people ; €30 per week. For additional person per week (3 items) : €7 per person.
Payment :
We could accept cheques in Sterlings but we rather prefer Euros. Bank transfers in € with IBAN and BIC references are possible and highly recommended as safe, pretty swift and free for people leaving in the EEC zone. Please contact us for further details. Some other arrangements may be possible depending on the people concerned and their particular requirements. Sorry but credit cards are not accepted.
A LA CARTE FRENCH TUITION AND TRANSLATING SERVICE
Tuition :
The owner is bilingual and a former teacher with a wealth of experience in English schools and language laboratories. It is possible to have daily tuition or just a few hours per week on a ‘one to one’ basis for children, teenagers and adults to suit everybody’s needs in order to learn or relearn the French language in the right environment with a patient and dedicated retired teacher.
So you are offered ‘à la carte’ tuition from beginners to advanced levels: basic tuition, school revision, conversation, reading of news articles, even local guided tours in French with translation into English if required. Tailor-made lessons ( up to University level ) are also possible. A special quote can be provided according to your requirements but a student’s resume of his studies, school achievements, grammatical / vocabulary, comprehension/ pronunciation or any other weakness regarding the language is also required to assess his abilities.
House hunting :
I am also offering a new option or service for people interested in discovering the area or keen in visiting French dwelling houses with the intention of purchasing a French property. I can accompany you on site and visit the properties for sale in the area to facilitate the local contacts discuss your needs, explain to you the French traditions and ways of living.
I can also help you with some documents and even liaise with the estate agent. You will be charged by the hour or half day’s work.
In both cottages 2 thick flexi-display books are provided: one with 14 suggested itineraries/routes, places of interest illustrated with pictures and maps for preparing your outings planning selected visits…. and the other one with bilingual notes on the village, the area, outdoor activities with a full inventory of crockery, trinkets, a comprehensive vocabulary dealing with sport terms, wine growing, architectural terms, pétanque terms etc… and English instructions for use of equipment, utensils.
A mini-tourist office room collecting 50 files from A to Z is available for compilation, viewing of miscellaneous documents to get a preview before going out. A large wall map allows you to pin point the main places.
